This is the place where we have a chance to give faces and stories to all those Labradors who have benefited from Labrador Life Line's help, thanks to your generosity!
You can either look at our stories chronologically or alphabetically.
Sadly, not all of our
cases can end joyfully, but we remember those dogs who's lives were
cut short.

Dogs funded in 2008:
Samantha was surrendered to her vet clinic when
she needed surgery to remove a mast cell tumor.
Hank is in reacue and heartworm positive.
Big Boy was hearworm positive when he was adopted from rescue.
Remington became very ill very quickly and needed
costly tests and treatment to pull through.
Cleo needed surgery on her eye.
Pave needed cruciate repair surgery.
Lilly unexpectedly came down with parvo virus.
Carter is an older fellow, in rescue, with disc compression
problems affecting his ability to get around.
Tule came to rescue both heartworm positive and suffering from
a tick borne disease called anaplasmosis.
Cinnamon has one leg that collapses under her, and needs
some diagnostic tests to determine the cause.
Hubble was hit by a car and needed urgent vet care.
Max had a herniated disc and needed immediate surgery to correct.
Rawlings is a very young pup with a bad heart murmur -
in need of diagnostic tests to determine the cause.
Blazer needed follow up vet visits after a cruciate repair.
Jade is in rescue and heartworm positive.

Cameo is a retired seeing eye dog who had a very bad bladder infection.
Henry needed surgery to correct fluid accumulation in his lungs.
Cody had a torn cruciate and needed surgery.

Ruby came to rescue with a torn ACL and hip dysplasia.

Violet tore her ACL jumping off the bed and needed surgery.
Bo was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis and needed urgent treatment.
Coco was found by her rescue to have a severe respiratory infection.
Toby is a young puppy in rescue, found to have Parvo.
Buddy fell and broke his leg while playing on the stairs with his young human.
Beau has been tentatively diagnoses with a portasystemic shunt.
Brinkley was found by a good Samaritan and turned over to rescue... he had a severely broken leg that was amputated.

Honey needed surgery to treat her CCL injury.
Knamo fell down the stairs and hurt his back.
Subby was given over to rescue after being hit by a car.

Jett is in rescue, he needs treatment for Ehrlichia and surgery for a Left Femoral Head Fracture.

St. Nick is in rescue and was found to be heartworm positive.
Buddy 2005 #1 was found after being hit by a car and went into rescue when his pervious owners did not come to claim him.

Chico needed his tail partially amputated.
Ciela fell off the couch when playing and broke her left hind femur.
Hershey was taken to a shelter after being hit by a car.
Archie was a young stray brought to a shelter and found to need surgery for a dislocated elbow.
Jory was found by a good Samaritan after being hit by a car.
Dana is a 12 year old retired Seeing Eye Dog who needed surgery to remove tumors.
Candy is a one year old owner surrender who gave birth a day after being turned over to rescue.
Shanna was rescued from a shelter and had a broken leg.
Roadie was picked up on the side of the road by a good Samaritan and needed surgery to repair his broken pelvis.
Hershey was diagnosed with a tumor on his eyelid and he needed it surgically removed.
Droog, newly diagnosed with diabetes, he also needed a surgical repair for a torn cruciate.
Eme is a young chocolate girl with a luxating patella that needs surgical repair.
Dana is a retired seeing eye dog who went to the vet with a bad cough.
Jennie had a luxating patella and a ruptured ACL.
Samson had pancreatitis and was in urgent need of veterinary care.
Dora is a young yellow heartworm positive rescue who has a potential home waiting for her after her heartworm treatment.
Holly escaped from her backyard and was hit by a car and fractured her leg.
Sammy was surrendered to animal welfare and later discovered to have a painful and long standing ear infection that was resistant to treatment.

Tessa was found by rescue and discovered to be heartworm positive.

Tara, a stray taken into rescue, was found to have several lumps that needed to be surgically removed.
Darla was a stray found to have a luxating patella.
Rex is a young dog who had a badly broken leg as a result of being hit by a car.
Valerie developed cataracts after a bout of pancreatitis left her with diabetes.
Bella had a mast cell tumour and was rescued from a shelter.
Snoop is a 3 year old boy who had an intestinal obstruction.
Molly is a 3 year old girl who spent time at the vet with liver failure.
Kelby is a 2 year boy with a cranial cruciate ligament rupture.

Simon has been ill with episodes of excessive panting and elevated heart rate, as well as difficulty eating.
Buddy (2003 #3) ran out in front of a car and broke his leg.

Max was brought to a shelter and discovered to be heartworm positive.
Buddy (2003 #2) was found by a LLL alumni and discovered to be heartworm positive.

Sandy was hit by a car, and had both back legs fractured.
Eli was found with his littermates around Christmas time - he had a broken leg.
Trooper is a 12 year old assistance dog in need of some follow up blood work and a vet exam.

Toby is a fighter with some serious health problems and a human that loves him dearly.
Bo lived for 3+ years in a cage that was too small, under unhealthy conditions.
Kali is a stray rescued by a good Samaritan, she had a serious leg fracture.
Chloe hurt her knee and then there were complications when it was time for her surgery.
Buddy zigged when he should have zagged and the car won that confrontation...
Hershey had a rare limb deformity that was causing his legs to twist and needed surgery.
Onyx was an extremely emaciated stray who ended up in a shelter in Texas.
Boss - After being rescued from a kill shelter he was found to have heartworms.
Zoom - An accident results in an ACL tear.
Chili - The dangers of riding in the bed of trucks is evident in this boys case.

Luke - he had a right rear cruciate ligament tear.
Muddy - was found with severe injuries on the road, and needed surgery to remove an eye.
Mo - heartworm positive while in a foster home after being surrendered to rescue.
Fortune - a fractured leg and a dislocated hip after being hit by a car.
Isaac - Another rescue boy with cruciate problems.
Diamond - A newly adopted rescue with a cruciate tear.
Annie - Attacked by another dog, Annie ran directly into the path of a car.
Josh - A rescue with two torn cruciates needs help to heal.
Ebbie - Tylenol toxicity? Hemorrhage of the spleen? Ebbie needed help to find out!
Prince - This rescue needed heartworm treatment to find a new home.
Prince (2) - Funding from LLL enabled Prince to lose his cataracts!
Chester - Another lost little guy, Chester suffered from a broken leg.
Shadow (3) - Abandoned because of a broken leg, Shadow needed surgery and a new home.
Jack - Lost and scared, Jack jumped from an expressway overpass and needed surgery to find a loving home.
Candy - Hit by a car, this girl was lying in pain when saved.
Pogo - Saved from neglect, he needed to conquer the heartworms!
Dexter - After being cruelly turned outside, he was hit by a car and needed surgery on his fractured hip.
Magnum - funding for his TPLO allows him to live with his new mom.
Bailey - After fighting a courageous battle against blastomycosis, Bailey was released from her struggle and pain.
Lacey - With a crushed disc, a torn ACL and bone spurs, this poor girl needed surgery badly.
Amber - funding this girls medial patellar luxation, along with LABMED and Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Rescue, meant her new home could adopt her!
Sandy - LLL and LABMED team to give this rescued girl a new lease on life - without heartworms!
Mason -Failure to administer heartworm preventative year round to this well loved labby boy resulted in him contracting heartworms.
Duke - A chocolate rescue boy found with a broken back.
Misty - Misty became a rescue when she became lame and needed surgery. She was not wanted anymore.
Zoey- Zoey was found on someones front porch in rather bad condition.
Sable - Sable weighed about 32lbs when rescued back in November... Unbeknownst to her rescuer, Sable was about 3 weeks in whelp.
Jake - Jake was a stray, picked up by animal control and suffering from severe ear infections and skin lesions on his face.
Bear - Bear was supervising his familys move when he got in the way of their van.
Hunter - A heartworm positive young black male rescued off of a busy highway.
King- A black labby boy, approximately one year old was rescued off the streets by a family with children. Attempts to find his owner(s) were unsuccessful so OK Lab Rescue was contacted. While in foster, he tore a cranial cruciate ligament and needed surgery!
Charlie Brown - Charlie Brown, abandoned by his owners due to medical problems, has found a second chance for a forever home and received the treatment he needed to have a good quality life.
Jewel - Jewel was rescued from a kill shelter. She was suffering from entropion, a very painful eye condition.
Roxy - Roxy finds a family who only wants best for her.
Bear - Bear was hiking in the woods and stepped into a hidden hole and severely fractured his leg.
Balto - A newly rescued dog requires knee surgery.
Max - Shot as a puppy, Max needed help to heal.
Buster - Abandoned by his owner, Buster needed to kill off some heartworms.

Charlie - His original owners neglected him but in a new family, with good food and lots of love Charlie is recovering from his wounds and is a loving labby boy.
Sam - Sam was hit by a car and just left there to suffer. A Good Samaritan success story!
Doug - He was found, thin and starving, wandering a national park campground.
Jester- A rescued boy who finally found his forever home and had a knee problem that went undetected upon his adoption.
Dylan - Owner surrender with a broken leg and torn cruciate ligament
Oliver - Breeder surrender with a deformed, unsightly front leg
Bootsy - Bootsy was hit by a truck and her pelvic/hips were severely broken. Without LLL she would not have lived.
Shadow (#2!) - Shadow had an herniated disk, causing him severe pain.
Shadow - Essentially abandoned by her previous owner, Shadow had a heartworm infestation.
Aslan - A very large tumor impaired this rescued boys ability to walk.
Katie - This pretty girl had damaged carpal area and a torn ligament.
Moo - Moo, rescued from a shelter, had a life-threatening heart problem. This case was co-funded with LABMED.
Barney - March 2000 This yellow boy, rescued from a kill shelter, was heartworm positive.
Chiron - Chiron was hit by a car and seriously injured.
Lightning- Serious eye problems plagued this young pup.

Sissy and Flower - These two girls, who rescued from an abusive situation, were infested with heartworms. This case was co-funded with LABMED.
General - The story of an abandoned, injured and lonely Lab - and our first Canadian case.
Bear - A heartworm-positive rescued Black boy. This case was co-funded with LABMED.
Chloe - A very young and sweet Chocolate female with a very leaky faucet!
August - A yellow boy with a torn ACL that was rescued by the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association. This case was co-funded with LABMED.
Chance - Chance is a blind Labrador that was searching for a new home.
Pilgrim - Pilgrim was rescued by a LABSR4U list member from a miserable existence of scrounging for food in a parking lot. This case was co-funded with LABMED.
Abby - Abby is a friendly, happy girl who was unable to be a real Lab and show her joy for life due to a poorly repaired knee.
Sam - Sam is a two to three year old yellow who was suffering from severe heartworm infestation.
Truffles - Our very first case! Truffles is a little chocolate girl who was suffering from an Ectopic Ureter.
