One day Shadow whacked her tail a little too hard and cut it on her dog crate. When the wound would not heal, her Mom took her to the vet who prescribed antibiotics. Despite the medication, constant tail wagging reopened the wound and prevented it from healing.

Her Mom came to Labrador Life Line for financial help after taking Shadow to another vet. The vet felt the only way to heal the lesion, and prevent the spread of infection, was to amputate the tip of her tail. This would allow the vet to make a nice clean incision and give Shadow’s tail the best opportunity to heal.

Before surgery and help from Labrador Life Line, Shadow’s tail hurt her so much that she only half wagged it between her legs. Because of the generosity of our donors, Shadow is a happy Lab again.
