By looking at her you would never suspect anything was wrong. However, pretty year-old Scarlett was suspected of suffering from an ectopic ureter. The ureters, when functioning normally, conduct urine between the kidneys and bladder. In Scarlett's case, the connections between her bladder and her kidneys are missing and not properly connected.
This results in abnormal flow of urine. Instead of a normal flow, Scarlett leaks urine instead which can lead to a host of other medical conditions including: lesions, blisters, and urinary tract infections.
With surgery, the vet said she could go on to lead a normal life. This is when her loving family came to Labrador Life Line for help.
Thanks to our generous donors and their support, Labrador Life Line was able to give Scarlett an new life. Both she and her loving family an now enjoy many more years together.
