Despite a separation of over half a world, nothing could be stronger than the bond between dog and owner. Such was case with Princess and her dad who was serving our military in Afghanistan

Eight-year-old black beauty Princess was hit by a car and sustained a severely fractured tibia. When her mom contacted Labrador Life Line for help, Princess was on a morphine drip with her leg in a splint. The vet stressed that the surgery needed to be done that day or else Princess was at risk to be euthanized.

Upon hearing that his girl might not make it, Dad emailed us from Afghanistan saying, “I would hate to lose my dog with out being able to say good bye. She truly is my best battle buddy."

Due to the urgency of Princess's case, the board quickly processed, and approved her case for funding in only a couple of hours. It's because of the continued support of our generous donors, we were able to fund the down-payment for Princess's surgery (an internal fracture fixation with pins and wire.) Now when Dad comes home, she'll be able to run up to him and give him a big, wet and sloppy welcome home kiss.
