When six-year-old Koa's Mom came to Labrador Life Line for the help, his condition was dire. Koa had been battling a nasty infection for the past couple of weeks and was showing no signs of improvement. The chocolate cutie was suffering from a large and nasty wound on his side. Additionally, Koa was lethargic and was barely eating, and had lost nine pounds in the past week alone.
The vet believed there might be some underlying infection and wanted to perform an Aerobic culture. The vet also wanted to prescribe antibiotics and a wound spray. There was also the possibility that if the antibiotics failed to work, Koa might need a skin biopsy.
Sadly, time was not on Koa's side. Koa passed over Rainbow Bridge not long after Labrador Life Line funded some of his treatment. Koa passed away from bloat.
Even though Koa's story didn't have the happy ending we were all hoping for, we are thankful for the generous support of our donors. Because of your donations, we can continue to assist Labs like Koa who are in need of medical care and help them get the treatment they would not otherwise get or receive.
