Ogre's Mom grew concerned during the holiday season last December, when her handsome fella developed an intermittent, yet persistent cough. She was so worried she applied for assistance with Labrador Life Line.
However, as the old year drew to a close, and new one was being ushered in, Ogre seemed to be getting better so Mom withdrew his application for consideration.
In the meantime, Mom was also suffering from her own health concerns. Because of this, and a lack of funds, treatment for Ogre was delayed.
But Sadly, Ogre was still hacking and not showing signs of improvement. So, Mom reapplied for help. Finally able to secure some funds for Orge, Mom took him to see the vet.
The vet diagnosed Ogre with severe dental disease and severe gingivital recession. The vet was very concerned about his infected teeth. Additionally, since there was discharge coming from the teeth the vet wanted them surgically removed as soon as possible. The vet also wanted to do a laryngeal exam while Orge is sedated to check for laryngeal paralysis.
