Dodger, a four-to-six month old black lab pup when was dropped off at a high kill shelter after being hit by a car. He was pulled from the shelter by For Pete's Sake Rescue Group.

With his great disposition and his great chance of adoptability, the rescue set out to mend his broken back leg.

The rescue took Dodger to four different vets. Because of you, the people who support Labrador Life Line, Dodger's leg was saved.

Last we heard Dodger was healing in his foster home. Dodger will stay with his foster family until he is healed completely. At that time, the rescue will begin its search for Dodger's forever home (which they don't anticipate will take very long.)

A few months later, we received this happy ending.
"I was just thinking about you and wanted to give you an update on Dodger, the adorable Black Lab that your organization helped our rescue group get into surgery for a broken leg.

His leg is healed and he is doing wonderfully! He got adopted into a home with previous lab owners who have two boys and live near a lake, perfect for summer dips in the water! We are so incredibly happy that Dodger's life turned around and he is now healthy and happy and living a normal puppy's life in a loving family! What an amazing story.

We are working on several other rescue adoptions, some of which are Labs, and we look forward to having all our dogs get wonderful homes just like Dodger. He's adorable and so sweet. Thank you again so very much for all your help with saving Dodger and his leg."
