Colton was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease (hyperadrenocorticism).
The disease is often dismissed by owners as normal "aging." This is understandable. The most common symptoms are: hair loss, weight gain, and the dog often begins to urinate in the house. Cushing’s is the result of a tumor on the pituitary gland, the tumor is inoperable, but can treated with medication. Initial treatment requires an 50 day induction phase which includes medications, ACTH stimulation tests and blood work.
That is when Colton's family came to Labrador Life Line for assistance.
Not long after helping Colton, Labrador Life Line received this letter from his family.
Dear Labrador Life Line Members,
I want to extend my gratitude for helping Colton. I am very humbled and forever grateful. With your help, Colton was able to start treatment this week. We would not have been able to start treatment without you. I admire each and every one of you for being a part of such a wonderful organization. It is my promise to you that I will show support and promote your organization any way that I can. I will do so and I will advise others to shop through your affiliates. I will update you on Colton's treatment from time to time. Each and every one of you is forever in my heart. Once again, thank you so much for helping my baby. Please take a moment and read the attachment-this is a letter I sent to my friends/family that I wanted to share with you.
Thanks to your support, Colton received the life-saving treatment he needed and will grow old with his family by his side.
