Whenever Chester, an active and playful two year old, exerted himself, his owner heard a terrible honking noise as he struggled to catch his breath, while his temperature would skyrocket.
No one was able to determine the cause. After exhausting most of her funds, his mom came to Labrador Life Line for assistance.
Labrador Life Line approved funding that enabled her to take Chester to a cardiologist who found that Chester had heart disease including three leaky valves. Chester also had mild pulmonary hypertension and was placed on medication to control it.
The last update Labrador Life Line received included a picture of Chester at his first dog show. Like any proud "parent", Mom boasted that Chester competed in both obedience and rally (where dog and handler teams are judged on exercises that are unknown to them until the day of the show).
Thanks to you, our generous donors, Labrador Life Line was able to help Chester get a "second wind".
