The bond between owner and dog is priceless.
Andy never failed to carry her purse when she needed him to. If she needed help keeping her balance because of her Parkinson's Disease, Andy was there.
Last year, Andy was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy, a progressive disease of the spinal cord that causes the dog to a lose coordination in its hind limbs. The disease is chronic and progressive, and eventually results in paralysis. Despite her medical limitations, Andy’s owner steadfastly helped him through his struggles.
Labrador Life Line helped too. Donations received were used to help fund Andy's medication, which slowed the progression of the disease.
Andy's owner returned to Labrador Life Line for help after two unsuccessful vet visits to treat a sore on his muzzle. The last vet referred Andy to a dermatology specialist for Atropic Dermatitis testing. Prior testing had revealed that was not cancerous, however, the sore had grown in size and wasn't responding to medical intervention.
Andy became a twice recipient of Labrador Life Line's generous donors. Thanks to your generosity, Andy continued to be the faithful service dog.
Sadly, not long after treatment, we received the sad update that Andy crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Godspeed Andy.
