Most of the Labs that are in need of Labrador Life Line's help, do not have life-threatening conditions.

Seven-month-old chocolate Lab Abu was like most Lab puppies. Abu was curious and always hungry. Also like most Lab puppies, his appetite was indiscriminate, and he would eat (or try to) anything and everything in sight.

Abu's owner came to Labrador Life Line after he ate part of a bath towel resulting in an obstruction. Abu required immediate surgery to remove the towel. Sadly, she just didn't have the money to pay for his operation. And without the funds, the vet refused to operate.

Shortly after surgery, Labrador Life Line received this update.

"Abu is doing well post-surgery. The vet seems to think he will recover just fine.  She said that there was no vomiting after surgery and that was a good sign. He's not out of the woods yet. He has to stay there to make sure his intestines don't rip from the surgery. We should know if he has fully recovered in 3-5 days. She is going to feed him a small amount of food tomorrow to see how he handles it. We can visit with him tomorrow as well. I think we are going to bring something from home that smells like us just so he knows we are still around.

Thanks again for generous donation. Without it, his surgery wouldn't have been possible. :-)"

While most of the Labs that come to Labrador Life Line for help are not fighting for their lives, some are. Thanks to the generous donations from our donors, Labrador Life Line can help Labs like Abu get the medical  care they desperately need to save their lives.
