Nikoli has Addison's disease or Hypoadrenocorticism. He requires monthly Percorten shots as well as daily Prednisone. Addison's Disease is not curable, but with the medication is manageable and he lives a basically normal life. If he does not receive his shot, a life threatening Hypoadrenal crisis can occur. In part, due to the economy Nikoli's owners found themselves in a position where they could not afford his monthly meds and needed some short term assistance until some alternate income became available. Not wanting Nikoli to suffer while they themselves struggled, they came to us looking for some help.
