Jack is a five-year-old black who is fighting his second bout of blasto. The first time was last fall and the infection was so bad that he lost an eye. Blasto is a fungal disease that attacks the immune system. Treatment consists of 3 to 4 months of rigorous antifungal (sporanox) and pain meds (derramax), along with regular skin cultures and blood work to determine course of treatment. As this was Jack's second round with this problem and the family had absorbed the costs of the first, they were short of funds to continue his treatment and came to Labrador Life Line for some assistance. Thanks to your continued support we were able to help out.
