2007 Augustus

Augustus is a four year old chocolate lad in rescue with Labrador Friends of the South after he was removed from a kill shelter. Augustus had apparently either been seriously mistreated or he had been hit by a car... he was ill enough that he was unable to eat, he urgently needed surgery to repair the damage from before his rescue. The group came to us for some assistance as his bill was expected to be quite high, beyond their means to finance. Thanks to your support Augustus has had his surgery and spent some recovery time at the vet hospital... He is recovering now, and once well the rescue groups anticipates no problem in finding him a forever home as he has a lovely temperament, is good with other animals and children and is generally highly adoptable.

Update on Augustus received from his rescue group on May 22nd:

2007 Augustus Recovering

Here he is! This pictures was taken today. He has gained about 12 pounds and the hair in his belly is growing back... no more bad hair days! He is sweetest dog and everyone at the vet loves him! We are still looking for a foster or a permanent home for him but we know we will find the perfect home for him soon, I know.

Gus at home
and further news... Gus has now found a forever home with a family who adores him and who he loves in return. He has a toy basket that he loves to dump out so he can play with everything at the same time, and he is looking like a lovely and healthy chocolate boy!
