Buddy is a two year old yellow fellow who was found in October 2004 by an Orange County, CA shelter; they are assuming that he was hit by a car as he has a three part fractured right rear leg. They notified his owners that they had Buddy, but no-one came to claim him. The shelter contacted several local rescue groups but none of them were able to help. Labrador Rescuers were contacted and one of their volunteers drove up and rescued Buddy on December 4, 2004.
Buddy's surgery was done later in December of 2004, and his vet says that his prognosis is good. Neutering was to be done on the day of his surgery, but the surgery took longer than expected, so this procedure will be done as soon as Buddy is up to it. Buddy is expected to have a three month rehab period and will be ready for adoption in late March. He is currently in a foster home and is doing well with his recovery.
We at Labrador Rescuers want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping with our Buddy. You may know that we just started our rescue organization at the beginning of 2004 and at times it has been rough, but with wonderful organizations like yours to help us, we have accomplished our goal of saving the lives of Labs with medical needs.

Labrador Life Line would like to thank you on behalf of Buddy and his rescuers. He can look forward to a happy life (see the second picture) in part to your generosity and support!
