2004 Hershey 2a

Hershey is a 6 year old chocolate guy who was taken to the shelter after being hit by a car. He is an owner surrender due to inability to pay for his surgery... The animal control officer contacted Labrador Rescuers, a relatively new rescue group in the San Diego area. They have had the surgery done. Hershey was kept by the animal control office until his surgery could be done. He had a head wound and a dislocated hip. He has had Open Reduction Joint reconstruction and is being fostered by a LR volunteer during recovery. Because they are a rescue group, the vet gave a very generous discount. Because of his temperament, they feel there will be no problem adopting him out.

In a follow-up message from Labrador Rescuers...

I thought you and the folks at LLL would enjoy seeing a photo of Hershey, two weeks post surgery. The bandage and sling are off and things look good. Hershey is clearly out of pain now which means it is more of a challenge to keep him quiet!
We have added a link for LLL to our website and we plan to update Hershey's story on our website this week -- at that point we will add the information about LLL's help to Hershey's story on our website as well.
