Valerie

Valerie (aka Valkyrie) is a 5 year old yellow girl who was originally owned by her present owner's father. Valerie came to live with her current humans after her original person passed away...

Approximately two months after her move to her new home, Valerie became very ill and was diagnosed with pancreatitis (from which she recovered). Three months later she was started losing weight and was feeling poorly, and was diagnosed with diabetes (a not uncommon sequel to a severe bout of pancreatitis as the pancreas is the organ that secretes the insulin). Her diabetes is gradually being brought under control medically. During the course of the diabetes, Valerie developed cataracts, and just like cataracts in people the only option was surgical removal. Valerie has done very well with the cataract surgery on the right eye and there is no reason to think that she will not do as well with the left eye.

Thank you from Labrador Life Line, and from Valerie, for your support. You are the reason we are able to provide assistance to dogs like her!
