Molly is a 3 year old yellow girl who went to the local emergency clinic for vomiting... it was reported at that time she had gotten into the trash and eaten a 4 day old steak bone. She was treated medically and was discharged the following morning. All was fine until 3 days later when she starting vomiting and had no appetite. She went to see her regular vet for these symptoms and was sent to a specialist, where she developed extreme liver disease. At this stage there is no clear answer as to what is causing the problem but she had severe pancreatitis, hepatitis, and DIC any one of which can be life-threatening. Needless to say she was on very intensive medical management and 24-hours care for several days. Molly is doing very well, all the recheck values are normal or returning to normal, and clinical signs are resolved. Prognosis for quality of life is very high.
Molly, her family, and the board of Labrador Life Line would all like to thank you for your support - allowing us to provide assistance to dogs like Molly.
