Buddy is a black boy, approximately two years old, who was found wandering the streets. His rescuer already has several pets that were rescues and really had no room for him so she took him to the shelter. At the shelter he was tested and found to be heart worm positive. She decided to take him from the shelter as they would euthanize, and paid for his neutering and shots before he was released to her. He then came down with a severe case of kennel cough and, not wanting to expose her dogs, she paid to board at the Vet's for a week.
In the Vet's opinion, Buddy is an excellent candidate for heart worm treatment and should respond well. He also says that Buddy has a wonderful disposition and should be very adoptable after he recovers from treatment. His rescuer had no knowledge of rescue programs and was intending on finding him a home herself - seh has been provided with some contacts in rescue in her state, although we have not heard back if she has had any responses. Thanks to you we were able to assist with funding the heart worm treatment that Buddy needed, and he should recover and go on to a forever home!
