Hunter, a 2 year old neutered black male, was hit by a car. Hunter had been swimming in his pond, when something caught his eye and he went out onto the road. The impact of the car caused some serious injuries. Hunter suffers from numerous skin abrasions, pneumothorax, and a broken lower jaw. Emergency care was immediately sought and the vet bills began to mount quickly. Now stabilized, Hunter was transferred from the emergency clinic to the surgeon's clinic to have his broken jaw repaired.

His Mom wrote: "He is doing well . All the fractures have healed, and the wire was removed. He has one lasting affect - which is his eye... The vets said that it actually shrunk (which I believe is called enopthalmos, or phthisis bulbi), so therefore he has lost his vision in that eye, and may inevitably have to have the eye removed. But all in all, I think he has had a wonderful outcome from where he was. Thanks for your help!"
