Jewel was discovered in a kill shelter in Tulsa, OK. This approximately 1 1/2 year old yellow girl was deemed very worthy of adoption because of her wonderful sweet nature and so she was rescued by the Oklahoma Lab Rescue.
Her vet exam revealed she was suffering from entropion in both her eyes. Entropion is a heritable disorder in which the lower lids roll inward against the cornea. The rough margins of the lids and the hairs rub against the eyeballs and the dog's eyes continually squint and tear. This condition requires surgical correction as entropion is painful for the dog and can cause eyesight problem and even blindness if left untreated.
Jewel had her eyes fixed and while she was recuperating in her foster home ( a veterinarian student at OSU in Stillwater, OK), the right family came along and applied for adoption of Jewel and she is now in a forever home that loves her and will care for her like she has never had before and so rightly deserves.
Labrador Life Line is proud to have been able to play a role in Jewel's surgery and recovery. Thank you all for your most generous support of LLL. Without you, we could not have done this!
