Bootsy came into the lives of three little girls when a woman whom had
bought her from a pet store place an ad in the newspaper when she no longer wanted her.
She became the pride and joy of these little girls and their mom and dad.
One day out playing in the front yard with the family, Bootsy was hit by a truck breaking
her pelvic/hips and one side had three breaks in it causing the sciatica nerve to be
pinched as well. Bootsy's regular vet referred them to a specialist. Financial
arrangements had to be made or Bootsy was going to have to be put down to relieve her
suffering as the specialist clinic had to have a sizeable down payment down before even
seeing Bootsy. Grandmother of the little girls along with mom and dad set out to find
resources for help. They found LLL and Bootsy was able to get the help she needed.
Recuperation time was long and difficult for Bootsy but as of today, 11-24-00, she is 90%
back to her old self with a slight limp. She is enjoying swimming again and playing with
her little girls. Yes, Bootsy is now on lead when out in the front yard with her family. A
very hard lesson learned.
Grandmother, Elaine, had told LLL that when she was financially able to, she wanted to
give back to LLL for our generosity in helping Bootsy so we may help another lab in need.
We are happy to report that Elaine's donation(s) have started to come in and we thank her
so much.
Labrador Life Line is proud to have been able to play a role in Bootsy's surgery and
recovery. Thank you all for your most generous support of LLL. Without you, we could not
have done this!
