When twelve-year-old Polly needed emergency tie back surgery for laryngeal paralysis, her owner didn’t bat an eye. She dug deep and found a way to afford the two thousand dollars it cost to get her best friend the medical care she needed. However, a year later Polly was in a dangerous situation. Her vet had diagnosed her with a hemangiopercytoma on her front left foot. Polly’s chances of surviving the tumor were excellent if it could be removed, but Polly’s owner had lost her job and financial security at the end of 2007. Try as she might, she could not afford to help Polly get well at this point in her life. Luckily, with the help of Labrador Life Line’s generous donors, Polly was able to get her tumor removed and she continues to be a bright light in the lives of everyone around her. |
