2008 Jake

Jake is a twelve year old black fellow with laryngeal paralysis. His family are a single mom with two human kids, she has been going though a rough time after some personal challenges and had still managed to save half the required amount for Jake's surgery. The second half was proving to be harder to come by, and she came to us as the situation could not be allowed to continue. Your generosity and support have helped Jake to have this much needed surgery ... Thank you!

In a follow up message we received from Jake's people we found that he had a wonderful 9 weeks after he had surgery... he lost about 15 pounds... he was more like a big puppy. He continued going everywhere his humans went - to the store, the drive-in, and of course anywhere he'd have a chance to run and play. He has, unfortunately, gone to the bridge, but his family have their memories of how happy he was during his last weeks with them. Thank you for supporting us, allowing us to be part of that joyful time.
